FASHION for a GOOD CAUSE 

We had a blast at our annual Fashion Show at The Coach Pyramids, 250 Argyle Street North, Caledonia on September 20th at 6:30 p.m.

Sometimes raising money is just plain fun! On September 20th we had our annual fashion show at The Coach Pyramids in Caledonia and we shopped for a good cause. Fun, fashion, wine tasting, door prizes and shopping for a good cause.

It was a fun day for everyone!

On September 12, we hosted our second annual Jail & Bail event in Simcoe and Cayuga. The day was full of fun, creative crimes and lots of bail money raised for a good cause. Some of our criminals received bribes from coworkers to stay in jail long after their bail had been reached. What a great opportunity to have some fun with your coworkers! With the help of our willing jailbirds and those who posted their bail and bribes we were able to raise over $11,000.

A special thanks goes to the following donors: McDonald’s (Simcoe), and Tim Hortons (Cayuga) for coffee, Domino’s Pizza (Simcoe) for pizza, Shelly’s Family Dining & Catering (Cayuga) for cake, OPP Haldimand & Norfolk for their time and fingerprinting skills, Norfolk County Fair & Horse Show (jail cell – Norfolk), Touch of Haven (jail cell – Haldimand), Community Addiction and Mental Health Services of Haldimand and Norfolk (Photos & Presentation), Adam Veri (Logo design), Foodland Cayuga (use of their parking lot), and Turkstra Lumber Simcoe (tent).

United Way of Haldimand and Norfolk hopes that you’re hungry because we will be grilling up some fun every other Friday with barbecues for charity!

Turkstra Lumber in Simcoe has graciously offered to host a Friday BBQ lunch every other week throughout the summer. These BBQ’s will be raising money for the United Way of Haldimand and Norfolk and the many programs that we fund!

Join us for a hot dog, sausage or good ol’ hamburger for lunch on:

June 9 & 23, July 7 & 21, August 4 & 18, and September 1 & 15!

The BBQ’s will be taking place at Turkstra Lumber:
545 Queensway West in Simcoe.

UWHN Silent Auction raises $2,355!

United Way of Haldimand and Norfolk Silent Auction raises $2,355!

On Saturday, July 16, United Way of Haldimand and Norfolk held a silent auction in Cayuga during their annual Cayuga Fest. Thanks to the generous donations from local business owners, United Way was able to raise $2,355! These funds will go towards helping three key focus areas in our community; helping kids be all that they can be, raising people from poverty to possibility, and fostering healthy people through strong communities. A big thank you goes out to everyone who came out to support United Way as well as all of the businesses who donated! We were fortunate to have 70 items to auction off from the following sponsors:

United Way of Haldimand and Norfolk Hosts Baseball Tournament

On Saturday, July 9, five teams got together to play baseball in support of United Way of Haldimand and Norfolk. The games took place at Townsend Lions Park from 9 AM – 3 PM including a BBQ lunch. The winning team, “Brew Jays,” received Blue Jays tickets. A special thanks to deBoer Cabinets Inc. of Cayuga for sponsoring this event. Altogether, $1561 was raised to go towards United Way’s Annual Campaign. Thanks to all the teams for their support!

Annual General Meeting at Erie Beach Cove Room May 26th

The United Way Haldimand Norfolk is holding its 2014 annual general meeting at the Erie Beach Cove Room in Port Dover on Tuesday, May 26, 2015. All friends, United Way supporters and members of its funded agencies are welcome to attend. Tickets are $25.00 each. Please call the United Way office 519-426-5660 for tickets. Meet and greet starts at 5:30, dinner at 6:30 followed by business meeting.
